The invention concerns a method for regulating the ventilation of a pre-composting drum (10), into which waste (19) is introduced (100) and of which the shutters are closed (101). It is essentially characterised in that it comprises: - characterising (102) beforehand the nature of the waste introduced, - measuring (103) the temperature and determining (104) the total mass of waste (19) in the drum, - calculating (105) at least one of the values chosen from a quantity of air and a flow rate of air to be injected, depending on the temperature measured, from the determined total mass of the waste, and from the characterised nature of the waste, with reference to a set of matches stored in a memory, and - injecting (106) the calculated quantity of air or injecting the air at the calculated flow rate into the drum (10) by means of a fan (17), while the inlet shutter (12) and outlet shutter (13) are closed. |
