The invention relates to a steam production accessory (1) for the steam-heating and/or cooking of food in a container, said accessory comprising a cover (2) having a lower face (3) designed to be placed on a container. The aforementioned cover (2) is equipped with a water reservoir (4), a steam generator (5) and a pump (6), said steam generator (5) being supplied with water from the water reservoir (4) by the pump (6) and said steam generator (5) being connected to a steam outlet (7) opening at the lower face (3) of the cover (2). According to the invention, the cover (2) includes at least one free upper face portion (8) belonging to a wall (9) forming the corresponding portion of the lower face (3) of the cover (2). The invention also relates to an appliance for the steam-heating and/or -cooking of food, comprising a container for housing the food to be heated and/or cooked, and a cover (2) belonging to a steam production accessory (1) according to the aforementioned features. |
