PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head as means of selectively heat-treating successive layers of green material to create a plurality of cross-sectional layers forming a three-dimensional model.SOLUTION: There is provided a printer 108 for building a three-dimensional model by sequential deposition of a plurality of cross-sectional layers by using a thermal print head 1 movable relatively to a material bed 102 over a deposited layer 72. A protective sheet is disposed between the thermal head 1 and the deposited layer 72. To prevent warping of the model, temperature control of the material bed 102 is provided by an independently heatable cover 52/58 in contact with the material bed 102, e.g., via the protective sheet. |
