PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fat composition having good absorbency without adverse effects such as upset in a digestive tract (e.g. diarrhea) for easy accumulation in a body, which can be easily processed without deposition of fat crystals at normal temperature, with good stability; and a care food using the composition, at a low cost.SOLUTION: A fat composition includes 10 to 60 wt.% caprylic acid and/or capric acid, 7.9 to 50.0 wt.% palmitic acid, and 15 to 60 wt.% oleic acid in the whole residues of constituent fatty acids, with a weight ratio of the amount of palmitic acid residues bonded at the secondary position to the total amount of palmitic acid residues of 0.3 or more. In the whole fat composition, the content of triglycerides having one to two caprylic acids and/or capric acids in a molecule is 45.0 to 99.7 wt.%. A care food for elderly to intake high calories is produced using the composition. |
