PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery capable of obtaining excellent battery characteristics.SOLUTION: A secondary battery includes: an outer package body; an electrode structure and an electrolyte contained inside the outer package body; and a safety mechanism configured to interrupt a current in accordance with an internal pressure of the outer package body. The electrolyte includes an impregnation electrolyte that is impregnated in the electrode structure and a non-impregnation electrolyte that is not impregnated in the electrode structure. In a state where a battery voltage is 4.2 V, a ratio of a capacity of the outer package body and a volume of the non-impregnation electrolyte ([volume of non-impregnation electrolyte/capacity of outer package body]×100) is 0.31% or more and 7.49% or less.
