PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for knitting a fabric which allows knitting of a bound-off part having appropriate elasticity and sufficient strength.SOLUTION: A method for knitting a fabric repeats the steps of: performing tubular knitting at least once to knit a tubular stitch row 1 formed of face stitches; and superposing part of stitches in the tubular stitch row 1 on a stitch in a base part 9. When the steps are repeated, a new tubular stitch row 11 is consecutively knitted in the wale direction of an existing tubular stitch row 10, thereby joining the existing tubular stitch row 10 to the base part 9. When the tubular stitch row 1 is knitted, in the tubular stitch row 1, a center position in the knitting width direction of a stitch row 1y knitted on a needle bed FU on a side opposite to a side where a base part 91 is retained is shifted from a center position in the knitting width direction of a stitch row 1x knitted on a needle bed BD on the side where the base part 91 is retained, in a direction opposite to a direction in which the tubular stitch row 1 is moved so as to be superposed on the base part 91. |
