Provided is a polarizing plate which comprises: a polarizer; a first protective film that is laminated on one surface of the polarizer with a first adhesive layer having a thickness of less than 2.0 μm being interposed therebetween; and a second protective film that is laminated on the other surface of the polarizer with a second adhesive layer having a thickness of 2.0 μm or less being interposed therebetween. When this polarizing plate is arranged on a display cell, the second protective film is arranged closer to the display cell than the first protective film. The thickness of the first adhesive layer is smaller than the thickness of the second adhesive layer. Also provided is a display device which comprises this polarizing plate.
