PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active energy ray-curable adhesive composition having an appropriate viscosity that gives easy handling property as an adhesive, and having excellent adhesiveness to a plastic film, particularly, to a PVA film, and to provide an adhesive layer having excellent heat resistance, and a laminate such as a polarizing plate having the adhesive layer. ! SOLUTION: The active energy ray-curable adhesive composition comprises a carboxyl group-containing vinyl polymer (A) having a weight average molecular weight of 2,000 to 70,000 and a vinyl monomer (B), in which the polymer (A) and the monomer (B) are included by 5 to 60 mass% and 40 to 95 mass%, respectively, with respect to the total of the polymer (A) and the monomer (B). The adhesive layer is obtained by curing the above composition. The laminate includes the adhesive layer.
