SOLUTION: An imaging device includes: an imaging element including a plurality of pixels that can receive luminous fluxes passing through different regions of an exit pupil of a photographic optical system, respectively, and outputting a pair of image signals from the pixels; a first focus detection unit detecting a focus based on a phase difference between the paired image signals; an exposure control unit controlling a diaphragm stop of a diaphragm included in the photographic optical system; and a flicker detection unit detecting a flicker of illumination light.
