METHOD FOR ACTIVATING INACTIVE CELL AND TELECOMMUNICATION INFRASTRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for activating at least one inactive cell in a wireless telecommunication infrastructure.SOLUTION: The telecommunication infrastructure is provided with an active cell for accommodating a plurality of terminals. A presence signal is transmitted to within at least one inactive cell. A plurality of terminals within an active cell detects the presence signal (one or more) of one or more inactive cells, and collects information from the inactive cell. The information is reported to, and received by, the telecommunication infrastructure. The information received from the plurality of terminals is processed by a processing system of the telecommunication infrastructure, and the result of processing is provided. When the result of processing satisfies at least one such activation condition that at least one of the plurality of terminals exists within the coverage area of an activated cell, the inactive cell is activated.
