PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut a leading end part of a long paper at a right angle relative to a paper longitudinal direction while properly moving the long paper, and cut the long paper at a required length.SOLUTION: A long paper printing machine includes, between a wound roll R and a printing machine 3: a tension adjustment mechanism K which has tension application means K1 for applying a tensile force to a long paper P, and position correction means K2 for correcting right and left position of the long paper P; and a cutter mechanism C for cutting the long paper P at a right angle relative to a paper longitudinal direction. A long paper printing method includes steps of: feeding the long paper P from the wound roll R to the cutter mechanism C; transferring a leading end part of the long paper P to cutter means C2 by paper transfer means C1 of the cutter mechanism C; cutting the leading end part of the long paper P at the right angle relative to the paper longitudinal direction by the cutter means C2 in a state that the long paper P is stopped by the paper transfer means C1; transferring the long paper P after the cutting to the paper supply side of the printing machine 3 by the paper transfer means C1; and detecting the leading end of the long paper P by paper feed means 3A of the printing machine 3 to hold and convey the long paper P, then starting the printing. |
