PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for providing a bet related to an intermediate point in a race event.SOLUTION: A system for providing a bet related to an intermediate point in a race event executes the steps of: receiving a bet from a betting terminal; generating a betting matrix containing a plurality of randomly generated entries; receiving an intermediate race result detected by an intermediate recording device disposed at each intermediate point along a race course; determining one or more matching entries of the plurality of entries of the betting matrix, on the basis of a comparison between an actual race position of the intermediate race result and a possible race position of the plurality of entries of the betting matrix; and determining whether a bet is a winning bet, on the basis of at least a part of a comparison between one or more patterns or arrangements regulated by the received bet and the matching entry.
