The invention relates to an apparatus for protecting high-voltage electrical connections, in particular in vehicles. What is described is: a protection device (100) for interrupting a line (107). The protection device (100) comprises a conduction coil (104), which is designed to have a conduction current (111) on the line (107) flowing through said conduction coil and to thereby generate a magnetic field (112). Furthermore, the protection device (100) comprises a control coil (105), which is magnetically coupled to the conduction coil (104), and a switch disconnector (106), which is designed to interrupt the line (107) depending on a field intensity of the magnetic field (112). In addition, the protection device (100) comprises a control unit (101), which is designed to determine a control current (113) through the control coil (105) in order to vary the field intensity of the magnetic field, and thus to cause or suppress an interruption of the line (107) by means of the switch disconnector (106). |
