This telephone device has a near-field communication unit and a speaker that produces audio output from audio data. The near-field communication unit wirelessly exchanges data with a mobile phone. A music-playback feature of said mobile phone can be controlled remotely, and if a mobile call comes in or is placed during music playback, without the user performing an operation to stop said playback, said music playback is stopped and a wireless resource is switched over to voice-call use automatically, thereby transitioning to a voice-call state smoothly.
