PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing apparatus having a function for responding to the case where a user loses sight of a subject and capable of photographing the subject while preventing degradation in the picture quality of a photographed image.SOLUTION: The photographing apparatus has: a zoom control unit for exerting zoom control in accordance with a zoom operation on a lens so that electronic zooming is performed in a prescribed zoom area and optical zooming is performed when the prescribed zoom area is exceeded; and a display control unit for controlling the display of the display screen of a display unit in such a way that, when the electronic zooming is performed, an image that is out of a zoom range within the image-capturing range of an image-capturing element is shrunk and an image that is in a photographing range is enlarged, the shrunk image and the enlarged image are combined so that the combined image almost matches the size of the display screen, and the combined image is displayed on the display screen. When a loss of sight of the subject is detected, the display of the display screen is controlled so that a combining ratio between the shrunk image and the enlarged image is changed before being displayed on the display screen of the display unit. |
