Provided are a packet processing method and device. The method comprises: determining a flow table entry to be installed and packet sending information; and sending, to a forwarder, a flow table entry installation message carrying the flow table entry to be installed and the packet sending information, so that the forwarder obtains the flow table entry to be installed and the packet sending information from the flow table entry installation message, installing the flow table entry, and sending a packet according to the packet sending information. By means of the present invention, a flow table entry installation message carrying a flow table entry to be installed and packet sending information is sent by a controller, and the flow table entry to be installed and a packet to be sent are sent simultaneously, so that a forwarder simultaneously receives the flow table entry to be installed and the packet to be sent in order to install the flow table entry and send the packet, thereby reducing unnecessary signalling interaction and improving the efficiency of installing the flow table entry and sending the packet. |
