Provided are a synchronization method for a user equipment, and a user equipment. The method comprises: when a user equipment accesses a millimetre-wave frequency band network, carrying out first synchronization of a cellular frequency band via a cellular frequency band network covering the millimetre-wave frequency band network; and carrying out second synchronization of a millimetre-wave frequency band via the millimetre-wave frequency band network. By means of the present invention, after the first synchronization of a cellular frequency band is carried out, the second synchronization of a millimeter-wave frequency band is carried out via a millimeter-wave frequency band network, thereby avoiding the occurrence of a situation where a PSS is acquired by a user equipment in a PSS synchronization window which slides for a long time at a millimeter-wave frequency band, thereby saving the costs, narrowing the range of the synchronization window, and accelerating the detection on the PSS of the millimeter-wave frequency band, so that the user equipment synchronizes the millimeter-wave frequency band rapidly and accurately. |
