The present invention provides a catalyst for hydrocracking with which it is possible to reduce the oxygen content included in hydrocarbons synthesized from vegetable oils/fats, animal oils/fats, and/or liquefied coal oil that include at least one selected from among fatty acids, fatty acid esters, and alkylphenols, and provides a hydrocarbon production method using said catalyst. This catalyst for hydrocracking includes a carrier comprising a porous oxide, and includes nickel and molybdenum supported by the carrier. The catalyst for hydrocracking is subjected to hydrogen reduction, and the mass ratio (X/(X+Y)) of the nickel content (X) in terms of nickel oxide (NiO) to the total of the nickel content (X) in terms of nickel oxide (NiO) and the molybdenum content (Y) in terms of molybdenum oxide (MoO3) is at least 0.5 and at most 0.9. Furthermore, this hydrocarbon production method uses this catalyst for hydrocracking to produce hydrocarbons from vegetable oils/fats, animal oils/fats, and/or liquefied coal oil that include at least one selected from among fatty acids, fatty acid esters, and alkylphenols. |
