The invention relates to a device for transporting used, damaged, or defective galvanic cells while preventing and controlling safety-critical conditions of the galvanic cells, in particular lithium ion-based cells and/or lithium ion polymer cells, comprising an outer wall, at least one inner base at a distance therefrom, and an intermediate space between the wall and the base. The intermediate space is filled with a fire-protection agent made solely of inert, non-conductive, and non-combustible as well as absorbent hollow glass granulate in the form of a loose bulk material, and the inner base consists of plate material based on the same hollow glass granulate and forms a storage area for at least one galvanic cell. |
