PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and improved microcapsule for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries which is arranged to be present with stability in a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, and enables the arrangement of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery in a thin film form, and allows the insulation between electrodes to be ensured during the time when a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery generates heat abnormally, and others.SOLUTION: A microcapsule for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries according to an aspect of the present invention comprises: a core part including polymer of foaming monomers; and a shell part covering the core part, of which the stability in a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is higher than that of the core part. The microcapsule has an average particle diameter of 0.05-0.5 μm.
