PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring composition for a color filter having excellent dispersibility and temporal stability and furthermore capable of obtaining high lightness and high contrast ratio when used for the color filter, and also to provide a color filter using the same.SOLUTION: A coloring composition for a color filter contains a resin type dispersant (A) having a hindered amine skeleton expressed by the general formula (1) and a coloring agent (B), and the coloring agent (B) includes an aluminum phthalocyanine pigment expressed by either the general formula (B-1) or the general formula (B-2).
