PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of appropriately setting criteria for determining a moving destination hierarchy in replacement processing depending on the type of each task and an operating state, and preventing performance degradation due to placement of data on a task required of high response in a lower hierarchy.SOLUTION: A storage executes processing for allocating actual storage areas included in a virtual logical volume to a business computer, and replacement processing for moving data among the actual storage areas of physical storage devices different in response performance while referring to the number of I/O operations issued to each actual storage area from a task implemented on the business computer. A management computer controls the storage not to reflect I/O operations issued from a task having a monitoring necessity flag indicating no need of monitoring in the number of I/O operations issued to each actual storage area from the task while referring to task monitoring information including each task and the monitoring necessity flag indicating whether the task is to be monitored as a replacement target.
