A method for estimating a reflected wave arrival direction using a radar device having an antenna capable of selecting and transmitting or receiving any one of three or more sensitivity azimuth distribution patterns, the method being aimed at reducing a computation load for detecting targets, wherein first, second, and third reflection signals are respectively obtained by transmitting and/or receiving a radio wave in first, second, and third patterns each of which is one of the three or more sensitivity azimuth distribution patterns, first, second, and third numbers of targets are respectively obtained by estimating the numbers of targets in a reflected wave on the basis of the first, second, and third reflection signals, and the estimated number of targets and the presence azimuths of the targets are estimated using the first, second, and third numbers of targets, the first pattern of sensitivity azimuth distribution, the second pattern of sensitivity azimuth distribution, and the third pattern of sensitivity azimuth distribution. |
