<p>Abstract The present invention provides a dermatologic treatment device (100) comprising at least one pulse-able flash lamp (112) capable of emitting sufficient light energy to facilitate achievement of a desired cosmetic effect in a skin region and a window having a first pane and a second pane with a sealed space defined therebetween, the first pane being comprised of an optically transparent material with a hydroxyl component for placement against a skin surface in the skin region, the hydroxyl component being greater than 0 parts per million and less than or equal to about 5 parts per million, the second pane being comprised of an optically transparent material to absorb at least some infrared emissions of the flash lamp above 2000nm, wherein the window insulates the skin surface from at least some of the heat generated during operation of the device.
