PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a red coloring composition which can form a red colored thin film excellent in spectral characteristics.SOLUTION: The red coloring composition includes (A) a yellow coloring pigment, (B) a red coloring pigment and (C) a dispersant. A coloring transmission film satisfies the following characteristics (1) to (5) when forming a coloring transmission film having film thickness of 0.6 μm using the red coloring composition: (1) the wavelength of light at which the transmissivity of 50% is obtained is in the range of ≥583 nm to less than 587 nm; (2) the transmissivity of light of wavelength 400 nm is 15% or less; (3) that of wavelength 525 nm is 5% or less; (4) that of wavelength 600 nm is 75% or more; and (5) that of wavelength 700 nm is 95% or more.
