<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical short pulse generation device and an optical pulse generation device therewith which can generate an electrical short pulse having less jitter and a lower repetition frequency than before. <P>SOLUTION: The electrical short pulse generation device includes: oscillation means for generating a sinusoidal signal S with a bias voltage Vb superimposed thereon; frequency division means for dividing the frequency of the sinusoidal signal S to generate a pulse signal P having a pulse width equal to the time width of one period T of the sinusoidal signal S; delay means for delaying the pulse signal P by a predetermined delay amount; gate means for transmitting or interrupting the sinusoidal signal S according to the delayed pulse signal P to generate an input pulse signal Pi; and a nonlinear transmission line for compressing the pulse width of the input pulse signal Pi to output an output pulse signal Po. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
