<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a (meth)acrylic resin composition excellent in heat resistance, transparency, and mechanical characteristic, and to provide an optical component using it. <P>SOLUTION: This (meth)acrylic resin composition is a block copolymer containing a segment A polymerized using (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer as a principal ingredient and a segment B polymerized using, as a principal ingredient, (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer containing an adamantane structure represented by general formula (1). In the formula, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>-R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>independently show a group selected from a hydrogen atom, hydroxyl group, halogen atom, 1-20C alkyl group, and 3-20C cycloalkyl group. R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>shows a hydrogen atom or methyl group.
