The lift (10) has a platform (12) to support a disabled person, and a displacement mechanism (14) to move the platform from a low position located on a pavement to an intermediate position located at the vertical of the low position and at the same height as the floor of a room (M). The displacement mechanism includes driving units (20, 20') to move the platform vertically between the intermediate position and a high position placed with the vertical of the intermediate position and at the same height as the upper edge of the entrance (E) of the room.
