<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device having a shaft seal device which is excellent in sealability irrespective of rotation speed and high in seal lifetime even if lubricant is not applied to a seal and in which heat generation is suppressed, the shaft seal device being provided between a developer container and a rotary shaft of a screw, and an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A developing part 14 has: a housing 21 for accommodating a developer; a screw receiving rotational driving to agitate the developer inside the housing 21; and a rotating shaft 22 arranged through a through-hole 23 formed in the housing 21 and rotationally driving the screw. The developing part 14 includes: an intermediate rotation member 31 provided between the through-hole 23 and the rotating shaft 22, and rotating at a lower angular speed than that of the rotating shaft 22 in the same direction as the rotating shaft 22 when the rotating shaft 22 is rotationally driven; an inner peripheral side seal member 34 for entirely sealing the whole circumference between the intermediate rotation member 31 and the outer peripheral surface of the rotating shaft 22; and an outer peripheral side seal member 33 for entirely sealing the whole circumference between the intermediate rotation member 31 and the inner peripheral surface of the through-hole 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
