<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for efficiently inspecting a sensor to be used in a device for detecting a fact that a string shape foreign matter or a passenger, etc. has been caught in the entrance door of an elevator, etc. <P>SOLUTION: A device for inspecting performance of a sensor for an elevator includes: a sensor attachment fixture 40 for attaching a sensor 11; a reflection board 112 arranged at a position separated from the sensor 11 at a predetermined distance and reflecting a light beam B emitted from the sensor 11; a string 140 movably arranged between the attachment fixture 40 and the reflection board 112; and a buzzer 132 for reporting whether the sensor 11 has detected the string 140 or not.
