Bend sensor

The bending sensor (1) has a long extended body (2) made from insulating material, a longitudinal axis (4) and fibers (5) made of an electrically conductive polymer material, where the fibers are embedded in the body. The fibers are arranged in parallel to the longitudinal axis and are spaced from each other in the polymer body. A measuring unit (7) is connected with the fibers and is suitable for determining the change of the electrical resistance of the fibers as a measure of the deflection of the body from the longitudinal axis.
