<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a duplex printer that can carry out duplex printing so that barcode that is printed on one side of the recording medium is not adversely affected by logos or the like printed on the other side of the recording medium, thereby causing no deterioration in reading accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The duplex printer 3 includes a data receiving unit 41, a controller 47, and a print unit 43. The data receiving unit 41 receives print data D for duplex printing. The controller 47 carries out: a first analyzing step that determines if bar-code data B is contained in front-surface print data D1; a second analyzing step that determines if graphics data G is contained in rear-surface print data D2; and a data adjustment step that adjusts print data so that these data B and G are not printed at positions that overlap on both sides of a sales slip.
