<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lash adjuster capable of keeping different fluids from mixing together if the different fluids are used at both ends of a seal structure, and a seal structure of a sliding section. <P>SOLUTION: The lash adjuster 100 includes a first seal member 5 wherein the cross-sectional shapes of a first body 1 and a plunger 2 parallel to a sliding direction are symmetrical with respect to an axis perpendicular to the sliding direction, and a second seal member 20 wherein the cross-sectional shapes of the first body 1 and the plunger 2 parallel to the sliding direction are asymmetrical with respect to the axis perpendicular to the sliding direction, whereby the lash adjuster 100 can appropriately prevent the sealed oil of the lash adjuster 100 from flowing out, and outside oil from flowing into the lash adjuster 100.
