Closing unit for an injection moulding machine

The closing unit (1) has mold clamping plates (2,3) movable relative to each other. A drive device (5) moves the plates relative to each other and has a spindle (6) connected with one of the plates (3) in a torque-proof manner. The device has a spindle nut connected with the other plate and engaged with the spindle. An electric motor (8) i.e. hollow shaft drive, drives the spindle nut. The spindle is moved in a hollow shaft. The spindle is connected with the former plate that is fixedly connected with the machine bed in a torque-proof manner.
