<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid chromatograph capable of reducing retention time of a sample, and a control program for the liquid chromatograph. <P>SOLUTION: Delay time for delaying timing at which an auto injector 3 sucks a sample is calculated so that the auto injector 3 connects a retention part (a sample loop, for example) to a flow channel at timing at which a reciprocating motion of a pump 2 is in a predetermined phase. The auto injector 3 starts sucking the sample at timing at which the calculated delay time has elapsed. With this configuration, the suction of the sample does not start until the calculated delay time has elapsed.
