The cashbox apparatus includes a storage unit configured to receive a currency storage tool for storing currency, a door configured to open and close the storage unit, a locking device configured to lock and unlock the door, a detection section configured to detect the status of the door and an input section configured to input a first personal identification information. The generation section generates a second personal identification information. The first output section outputs the second personal identification information generated by the generation section. The lock control section enables the locking device to unlock if the second personal identification information generated by the generation section matches with the first personal identification information input by the input section.
