Amusement ride 1 that comprises; a support 10, a track 20 and a carriage 40 that follows a path defined by the track 20, wherein the path has a vertical component of direction. The track 20 is mounted on the support 10 for rotational movement about an axis A to cause relative movement between the carriage 40 and the track 20 that is at least partly under the force of gravity. The track 20 may be an endless curved track. The fairground ride 1 can include motors 30 that drive the rotation. The carriage 40 can be in the form of a gondola and may have wheels or rollers 41 that engage with the track 20. The carriage 40 may further include braking or drive means. The angle of inclination of the track (20) may be altered. A controller can allow an operator to control the speed and direction of rotation of the track (20). |
