PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device for reducing communication speed before being shifted to a power saving mode.SOLUTION: A printer 100 comprises a control unit 102 for instructing a LAN control unit 103 which communication speed to choose for communication. When it is determined that a power mode supplying electric power to the control unit 102 is shifted to a power mode not supplying the electric power to the control unit 102, the control unit 102 sends an instruction to reduce communication speed to the LAN control unit 103, and a power supply unit 105 blocks power supply to the control unit 102 after the instruction to reduce the speed is sent. |
