<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism capable of suitably switching a segmentation method of an effective pixel region in image processing with change in the shape of the outer edge of an image. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device comprises: an aspect ratio calculation part 101 for calculating the aspect ratio of the image; a transformation part 102 for executing geometrical transformation with change in the shape of the outer edge of the image; a variation calculation part 103 for calculating a variation relating to the aspect ratio caused by the execution of the geometrical transformation on the image; a determination part 104 for determining whether the variation calculated by the variation calculation part 103 exceeds a prescribed threshold; and an image segmentation unit 105 which switches the segmentation method of the effective pixel region of the image geometrically transformed on the basis of the determination by the determination part 104. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
