<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant base oil having excellent viscosity-temperature characteristics and thermal oxidation stability, compatibly having high viscosity index and low temperature viscosity characteristics at -35°C or lower even when a synthetic oil such as a poly-α-olefin base oil and an ester based base oil and a low viscosity mineral oil are not used and capable of improving MRV viscosity at -40°C and to provide a lubricant composition containing the lubricant base oil. <P>SOLUTION: The lubricant base oil has≥95 mass% saturated component, and the saturated component has≤10 mass% cyclic saturated component. The lubricant base oil has a viscosity index of 110 or more, aniline point of 106 or more and 14 to 20%εmethylene occupied in total amount of constituent carbon. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
