<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable gradation expression in which an achromatic color and a designated chromatic color overlap, in image formation using two colors of the achromatic color and the designated chromatic color. <P>SOLUTION: A bicolor image signal generating apparatus obtains the brightness and saturation of a designated color, an amount of toner required to form an image constituted of the designated color on the print medium, and the brightness and saturation of a full-color input image signal (steps S1, S3). On the basis thereof, the apparatus obtains each amount of toner for forming the image constituted of the two colors of the achromatic color and the designated color from the input image signal on the print medium, and generates a bicolor image signal from the input image signal by each amount of toner (steps S4 to S6). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
