<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve operation of a temporary yard commensurate with a stock status needed for storage of steel products arriving in a product yard in future while considering the handling quantity. <P>SOLUTION: In the yard operation support processing apparatus 3, a product information file 41 and a stock status file 43 are read and input from a database 4. An operation condition of the temporary yard is successively set. Thereafter, a future stock status of the temporary yard and a normal yard which transitions by normally placing sheet-like products arriving in the product yard for each shipping lot in the normal yard while temporarily placing the sheet-like products according to the operation condition is predicted, and an evaluation value indicating the future stock status and an evaluation value indicating a handling quantity required to move the sheet-like products temporarily placed in the temporary yard to the normal yard are acquired.
