A holder for use in removing punched-out chips from a pre-scored record card 12 in predetermined index positions by means of a stylus 24 comprises a plurality of T-shaped rubber backing strips 19 supported in grooves 33 in a base member 30, the strips 19 having. edges 35 in closely-spaced relationship to form spaces 20, in alignment with the index positions, above channels 31 in the base member, the width of the spaces 20 preferably being less than the thickness of the punched-out chips. The base member is slidably supported in a body portion 15 which is provided with a flange 16 to support the record card and, if desired, a superposed perforated templet 13. The portion 15 is closed at one end by a removable cap 14. The edges 35 of adjacent backing strips 19 may abut against each other. The stylus may be replaced by a mechanicallyoperated punching mechanism. The base plate and backing strips may be applied to a curved platen for use in perforating records by means of a punching roller.</p> |
