A film comprises a propylene polymer layer comprising 100 pts. wt. polymer and 0.01-1 pt. wt. silane coupling agent. A metal or metal oxide is deposited on the polypropylene layer. The metal is preferably vapour deposited aluminium, silica or aluminium oxide. Preferably, the film includes another polymer, especially 0.1-10 pts. wt. high density polyethylene (HDPE). The polypropylene may be a propylene homopolymer or propylene copolymer (preferably with ethylene and/or α-olefin, especially 1-butene or 1-hexene). The coupling agent is preferably a trialkoxysilane containing amino, epoxy, carbonyl, mercapto, vinyl, acryloxy or methacryloxy group. The preferred film also includes antioxidants, UV absorbers, antistatic agents, lubricants, nucleating agents, anticlouding agents and antiblocking agents. A composition comprising polypropylene, HDPE and silane coupling agent is also claimed. |
