A substance delivery device comprises comprises a body 2, and a plunger 40 which is movable with respect to the body to expel a portion of a substance from a container 24. In a first embodiment the degree of movement between the plunger and body is determined by the co-operation of two instances of co-operating features; one or more co-operating features 104 associated with the plunger, and a corresponding instance of one or more co-operating 105 features associated with the body. Plural instances of the said co-operating features are associated with at least one of the plunger and/or the body and co operation between different instances of co-operating features allows for a range of movement between the plunger and the body. In a second embodiment the device comprises a trigger mechanism 52, a latch member 110 and a lockout shroud (100, Fig 4a), moveable along the longitudinal axis of the body relative to the latch member. The latch may be unlatched by user manipulation of the trigger mechanism allowing it to move along the body of the device, causing the plunger to move relative to the body; the lockout shroud being movable between a first position which prevents the said unlatching and a second position which allows the said unlatching. In a third embodiment the device comprises a container carrier 82 housed within the body which is moveable along the longitudinal axis of the device relative to the body, wherein a surface of the carrier includes at least one visual indicator (83, Fig 3) that is visible through a window (131, Fig 3) in the body. |
