An interactive gaming system configured to enable a plurality of users to engage in a scheduled game conducted simultaneously across a plurality of venues. The system comprises a cloud-based remote computing resource, e.g. a plurality of servers 2a-c, arranged to control the game and ensure that the game is synchronized across all venues. At least one local computing resource 3 is provided at each venue being configured to receive game-related content from the remote computing resource in advance of the game and present it to a user during the game via a presentation device such as a screen 5. The local resource receives an input from each of a plurality of controllers 8 during the game. Each controller is a separate device from the presentation device, and is configured to receive the input from a user in response to the presented game-related content and transmit the input to the local computing resource. A system of delivering promotional content to at least a portion of users is also described, as is a system to allow a user to alter the way his score is calculated. |
