摘要 The present document relates to voltage regulators. In particular, the present document relates to a method and a corresponding system for improving the performance of voltage regulators subject to load transients. An auxiliary circuit (200) configured to generate an auxiliary current at an output of a voltage regulator (100) is described. The auxiliary circuit (200) comprises transient detection means (201, 202, 203, 204) configured to detect a load transient at the output of the voltage regulator (100). Furthermore, the auxiliary circuit (200) comprises an auxiliary impedance (211, 212) configured to be coupled at one end to the output of the voltage regulator (100), and an auxiliary switch (209, 210) configured to modify a voltage level at the other end of the auxiliary impedance (211, 212) by closing or opening the auxiliary switch (209, 210). In addition, the auxiliary circuit (200) comprises a control unit (205, 207, 208) configured to control the auxiliary switch (209, 210), subject to the detection of a load transient at the output of the voltage regulator (100), to modify the voltage level at the other end of the auxiliary impedance (211, 212) such that an auxiliary current is flowing through the auxiliary impedance (211, 212), when the one end of the auxiliary impedance (211, 212) is coupled to the output of the voltage regulator (100).
