Class 131 A dry shaver has rollers moving over the skin in advance of the cutting elements, the rollers being movable in an axial direction for removal from the dry shaver and moving in a direction transverse to the axis when pressure is applied to the shaver head. As shown, axially rotatable rollers 26, 34 are mounted between and at each side of reciprocated cutting elements 22, the rollers having smooth or corrugated surfaces and having terminal pins 30 entering apertures 33 in a detachable hair pocket casing 21 of the shaver head. A slidable plug 29 is movable against the action of a spring 28 so that the roller is removable for replacement &c. and as shown in Fig. 6 a leaf spring 43 permits transverse movement of the roller when shaving heavier beards. In modifications an annular projection on the plug 29 slides in an enlarged bore to give greater stability and the movement transverse to the projectudinal axis is against the action of a coil spring. |
