<p>The present invention relates to a veneer tray and a method for manufacturing the same. According to the present invention, a half-finished tray is formed by putting melamine resin into a press mold in the shape of a tray, heating, compressing, and molding the melamine resin. The half-finished tray is heated, compressed, and molded in the press mold again so that natural veneer, impregnated with the melamine resin, can be attached on the surface of the half-finished tray. Long grooves in the shape of a wedge are formed at fine and narrow intervals on a front surface of an upper mold of the mold pressing the veneer so that a number of protrusions can protrude from locations, corresponding to the grooves, on the surface of the veneer in the direction of a woodgrain. In other words, the grooves, formed at narrow intervals on the front surface of the upper mold, maintains wave lines or straight lines to be in the direction of the wood grain in the veneer; and compression molding is performed to attach the veneer to the half-finished tray while the grooves are arranged at intervals a user desires. Consequently, a person can feel texture of a natural wood material by visual sand tactile sense as the protrusions, protruding from the surface of the veneer, provide a pattern and a three-dimension of the woodgrain. A number of the small protrusions are densely formed on the whole portions of the veneer. Therefore, the protrusions can prevent bowls or kitchen utensils, placed on the veneer tray, from slipping.</p> |
