A cassette detection device may comprise: a cassette installation unit having a plurality of slots in which a plurality of cassettes is installed and a circuit detecting the installation of each slot; a plurality of signal output terminals and a plurality of voltage value detection terminals; and a main control unit detecting in which slot at least one of the cassettes is installed based on a plurality of output signals outputted from the signal output terminals and a plurality of cassette voltage detected by a plurality of voltage detection terminals. A technical problem to be solved by an embodiment of the invention is providing the device and the method for detecting the cassette installation to be capable of detecting cassette installation efficiently even if the number of slots increases.
